Halal remarriage after divorce

Contrary to cultural misconceptions, Islam recognises divorce as a legitimate solution when a marriage isn't working. The Prophet ﷺ said: "The most disliked permissible thing to Allah is divorce" (Abu Dawud) — showing it's allowed, even if not desired.

Several wives of the Prophet ﷺ had been married before him. Khadijah رضي الله عنها, his first and most beloved wife, was herself a widow who had been previously married.

If you're divorced, you have every right to seek a new spouse. And you deserve someone who sees your experience as strength, not a flaw.

Finding someone after a divorce can feel daunting. Here are common challenges:
